You will not believe it, but most likely 99% of your problems were created by you, or rather your mind. Most of the things that become a source of stress for you are actually the result of your thinking and, as a result, your actions. In reality, you can well prevent and solve your problems, but together you prefer to complicate and ruin your life. How so? – you ask. Look at how inherent the following eight points are – they are the culprits of your eternal discontent and frustration
- You let anxiety rule you
You are constantly worried about things that are often unimportant. Anxiety can be useful if it encourages you to take productive actions, but it is destructive if you allow it to “register” in your head. Before you start to worry about something, ask yourself three questions. How significant is this to you? Does this bring you any benefit? Can you do anything to improve the situation now? If all three answers are “no,” then it’s time to stop harassing yourself. There is so much space in your head that it is better to “populate” it with positive, happiness, and constructive thoughts. Anxiety brings only premature wrinkles and gray hair.
2. Do you think yourself too much
You subject everything to excessive analysis, regularly think over, visualize and experience past or future events. Alas, all these excessive mental efforts will not help you solve any of your real problems, but they can turn any trifle into a real tragedy and, ultimately, cause serious stress. Instead, you could take a deep breath, tell yourself that everything is fine, then focus on the present and calm your mind. And everything will immediately fall into place.
3. You constantly feel regret
We all make mistakes, and we commit things we are not proud of. That happens. However, regret should not be allowed to occupy all your thoughts and firmly tie you to the past. It will not lead to anything good. Accept yourself and your mistakes, because ideal people simply do not exist. Any regrets are best turned into a learned lesson about what is best avoided and what can be fixed.
4. You feel guilty
Taking responsibility for the events that happen to you and blaming yourself for what happened are two completely different things. The first approach is active and positive, and the second is passive and depressive. Taking responsibility makes you take real action and move forward, and blaming yourself only for problems is completely unconstructive.
5. You are mired in negative thinking
When an event happens to you, it is neutral. It can be either good or bad – it all depends on how you see it. When you focus on the negative side, your life will look gloomy and dull. You will act negatively in relation to other people, which, in turn, will affect you. And if you stop complaining and start treating others with friendliness, you will feel better, feel a surge of energy and attract more kindness and prosperity into your life.
6. You compare yourself with others
We all do it. We look at people, and then we look at ourselves and compare what we have with what others have. In this sense, enemy No. 1 is social networks with their virtual reality, which does not always correspond to reality. Sometimes they make us feel worse, sometimes better, but one thing is certain: the virtual world never makes us happy. We are always missing something. And that is the problem. This state of affairs will not help you improve yourself, but will only give you unnecessary uncertainty and low self-esteem. Just focus on yourself, acknowledge your accomplishments and continue to live on at your own pace.
8. You surround yourself with toxic people
These are the people who always put pressure on you, use something, demand something from you, and even belittle it in every way. You continue to maintain relations with them for a variety of far-fetched reasons, ignoring the most important fact that these people make you unhappy. Set priorities for yourself and think about your peace of mind and balance.
8. You neglect yourself
This means ignoring your body, health and emotional well-being. Pay attention to what you eat, what lifestyle you lead, and how you react to what is happening around. The gradual accumulation of such negative feelings and emotions will cause you to become tired, lack of energy and subsequently a real protracted depression. In this state, you are not able to work qualitatively, develop and achieve your personal goals, which, in turn, makes you feel like a failure, and who has neither motivation nor desire to move on.
